I’m excited to introduce myself as the Upper School Counselor for the 2016-17 school year. This is my 7th year serving as a school counselor in North Carolina. Having worked in small rural areas to large public schools, I have a solid understanding of the multitude of issues impacting students. Regardless of the school setting, my mission to prepare students for success in and beyond the classroom has remained the same.

To demonstrate my commitment to my profession and providing all students with an effective school counseling program, I achieved National Board Certification in School Counseling in 2013.

Outside of work, my time is spent chasing after my active 1 year old, Cruze. He keeps my husband (Mark) and I busy from the moment he wakes up until the sun goes down. We recently relocated our family from Raleigh and are currently getting acclimated to our new home in Charlotte. Any recommendations for newcomers to the Lake Norman/Charlotte area are much appreciated!

If I can assist you or your student in any way, please don’t hesitate to reach out.I’m looking forward a fun and exciting school year! Go Pride!

I’m excited to be joining Pine Lake Preparatory (PLP) for the 2016-2017. Just prior to coming to PLP, I worked as the North Carolina Admissions Regional Recruiter for The University of Alabama.  I was responsible for facilitating the admissions process for western North Carolina prospective students.  My passion is working with students through the higher education search and selection process.  I’ve been a licensed school counselor for seven years, and I have served in a NC public school.  However, the majority of my career has been spent working in a variety of college settings.  First, as Director of Admissions at Sage College of Albany I helped transition the school from a junior college into a four-year institution that specialized in Fine Arts programs.  Later, as the Director of Community College Partnerships for SUNY Empire State College I worked to develop transfer student partnerships between SUNY Empire and all 64 New York State community colleges .

I currently live in the Huntersville area with my husband and son, where we enjoy Alabama football and Syracuse basketball.  I look forward to working with all of the PLP families this year.
