PLP Rated A+

Pine Lake Preparatory Earns 3rd A+ Rating
Posted on 09/20/2017
A+ teachersScores are awarded based upon student performance on End-of-Grade (EOG) and End-of-Course (EOC) assessments based on five achievement levels, overall student proficiency on EOG and EOC assessments, academic growth, School Performance Grades, and four- and five-year cohort graduation rates were made public.

Pine Lake Preparatory earned an A+ School Performance Grade in 2017.

This is the third consecutive year that Pine Lake Prep has earned an A+ distinction, while historically, fewer than 4% of schools in the state earn an A+ each year.  While test scores and achievement will never be what matters most, this recognition speaks to the dedication, effort, and energy that our staff, students, and families pour into each day.

Congratulations to the entire staff of Pine Lake Preparatory, each of our students, and all of our families.

The state determines a school's performance grade based on Student Achievement (grade level proficiency) and Student Growth (ability of the school to academically grow students).  The Student Achievement Score at a K-12 school like PLP would include the Reading EOGs (3-8), Math EOGs (3-8), Science EOGs (5 and 8), Math I EOC (Upper School), English II EOC (Upper School), Biology EOC (Upper School), ACT scores (% of students meeting the UNC system admissions requirements), Math Course Rigor (% of students who successfully complete Math III) and Graduation Rate.  For the Growth Score, the state uses historical testing data on each student to determine expected vs. actual student performance.
