Pine Lake Preparatory, was notified today that the K-12 public
charter school will be recommended to receive designation by AdvancED as
an accredited school.
Pine Lake Preparatory hosted an external
review team that included school administrators from several counties
across North Carolina, who visited classrooms, met with leadership and
students, and pored over documentation on school policies, procedures,
test scores, financials, surveys, and other assessment data. After the
two-day onsite visit, the team confirmed they would be recommending to
the AdvancEd board to grant the designation of accreditation to Pine
Lake Prep for a five-year term.
The team evaluated PLP’s:
- Impact of teaching and learning
- Capacity of leadership
- Use of Resources
"We are very pleased to have received the vote of confidence from the
AdvancEd team. Pine Lake Prep meets and exceeds the rigorous criteria to
be recommended as an accredited school for a five year term," said
Chris Terrill, Head of School.
Susan Gottfried, Evergreen
Community Charter School Executive Director, led the evaluation team.
She said the team concluded that, “PLP is responsive to the needs of
parents and the community, and actively engages them in school
improvement activities, including PTA support, campus expansion, and
welcoming the community as partners and volunteers.”
