Lower School (K-5) Part-time Spanish Associate Teacher

 

Pine Lake Prep, a North Carolina top rated school, is seeking an energetic and qualified Part-time Lower School Spanish Assistant Teacher (K-5) for the 2019-2020 school year.  Essential functions of this position include:

 

          Work, under the supervision of the classroom teacher, with individual students or small groups of students to reinforce learning of material or skills initially introduced by the teacher.

          Assist in preparation of instructional materials.

          Serve as the chief source of information and help to any substitute teacher in the absence of bilingual teacher.

          Establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others.

          Demonstrate proficiency with technology and general office equipment.

Candidates must possess a high-school diploma and have demonstrated ability to read, write, and speak English and fluent Spanish.

Lower School (K-2) Spanish Immersion Teacher - Part-time to Full-time Opportunity

 

Pine Lake Preparatory, a North Carolina top rated school, is seeking an engaging and innovative Kindergarten Spanish Immersion Teacher. The Spanish Immersion Teacher must be a native Spanish speaker and should be motivated, dynamic, and organized, with the ability to work in diverse teams.  This position will be part-time for the 2019-2020 school year, transitioning to a full-time teaching position in the 2020-2021 school year. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

 

          Provide high quality Spanish Language instruction for children in K-2 classroom settings.

          Plan, prepare and deliver appropriate lessons using a variety of presentation methods to keep students engaged.

          Maintain records and communicate students' progress and development.

          Create and maintain a positive classroom environment that promotes good behavior and adheres to PLP's Code of Conduct.

 

The candidate will be required to uphold standards set by the NC Department of Public Instruction. Desirable applicants will hold a Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university.  Experience teaching Kindergarten is preferred.

Training and Support Specialist

 

Pine Lake Prep is seeking an energetic and highly self-motivated Training and Support Specialist.  This position will train and support our end users, including teachers, K-12 students and parents on a range of technologies from websites to phones.  

  

Job Responsibilities:

  • Training staff, students, and parents on various technologies used by the school
  • Conduct training in one-on-one, small and large group sessions
  • Work with teachers in the classroom use new technology with students
  • Be the primary point of contact and support for teachers, students and parents regarding our Learning Management Solution, Canvas LMS
  • Track and manage all support tickets ensuring they are assigned to the proper person and resolved in a timely manner
  • Be our first line of technical support and troubleshoot technical difficulties with all technologies deployed in the classroom.This includes, but certainly not limited to IP phones, projectors, printers, iPads, Macbooks, iOS and Mac applications

 

 

The ideal candidate will stand out in a few key areas:

 

  • Have excellent people skills
  • The ability to communicate technical topics to a wide range of audiences and have the patience and understanding that not everyone grasps technology easily
  • Proven interest in and desire to learn about technology on their own.This will include projects outside of work.

 

 

This position will work directly with students and will require a thorough background check.  Additionally second round interviews will require short presentations to demonstrate training skills.

 

Working hours for this position are 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

The EC Teacher will work in both an inclusion and resource setting.  Responsibilities include but not limited to:

 

  • Create a safe and welcoming classroom climate and a community based on respect
  • Supervise students in all situations, ensuring emotional and physical safety
  • Follow all state and federal policies and procedures for the provision of Exceptional Children’s services (including referral, eligibility and services)
  • Develop and implement an Individual Educational Program(IEP) for each assigned child
  • Schedule IEP meetings in a timely manner with the parents and IEP team members
  • Complete all paperwork assigned in a timely manner and following federal timelines as required
  • Attend all meetings for assigned students and new referrals to caseload
  • Collect student data to measure and report progress
  • Collaborate with general education staff to ensure the implementation of IEPs in the general education classroom, monitor student progress, and plan for classroom accommodations/modifications and resource lessons
  • Work with general education teachers, team leaders, associates, behavioral specialists, and parents to address student behavior and develop interventions as needed
  • Inform EC Director of any concerns, issues or potential issues with EC
  • Attend faculty, team and leadership meetings
  • Perform non-instructional duties to maintain the safety of students
  • Maintain current license and pursue professional development opportunities

The EC Teacher will work in a school based resource environment, as well as off-campus in the community, facilitating job experiences.  Responsibilities include but not limited to:

 

  • Create a safe and welcoming classroom climate and a community based on respect
  • Supervise students in all situations, on-campus and off-campus, ensuring emotional and physical safety
  • Follow all state and federal policies and procedures for the provision of Exceptional Children’s services (including referral, eligibility and services)
  • Develop and implement an Individual Educational Program(IEP) for each assigned child
  • Schedule IEP meetings in a timely manner with the parents and IEP team members
  • Complete all paperwork assigned in a timely manner and following federal timelines as required
