Classroom Technology Specialist

FTE:  12 months

Salary: $30,000 - $35,000 

Pine Lake Preparatory is seeking a highly motivated IT Support Specialist. This position reports directly to the Technology Director Pine Lake students achieve at a high level, and we routinely rank among the best public schools in the state. 

General Statement of Job

The IT Support Specialist provides direct support to our staff and students in their daily use of Apple devices, Windows devices, projectors, VOIP phones, etc.  Most importantly, the IT Support Specialist demonstrates a strong desire to deliver world-class customer service to our community, regardless of task.

Individual assigned to this classification must report to work per their assigned schedule.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities

The following duties are normal for this position.  The omission of specific statements of the duties does not exclude them from the classification if the work is similar, related to, or a logical assignment for this classification. The IT Support Specialist is responsible for providing all aspects of technology support, including (but not limited to) the following:

·         Provides excellent customer service to staff and students

·         Act as the first level of support for teachers, students and parents

·         Prepares, configures and supports Mac and Windows laptops, desktops, Apple TV’s, projectors, phones, printers, copiers and other end-user devices

·         Writes and produces training for staff, students and parents

·         Supports Audio/Visual functions of the company

·         May at times be required to provide support after main hours to complete support and project tasks

·         Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

Necessary skills include excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong organizational ability and the ability to meet deadlines.  Experience in a school environment preferred. In addition:

·         Superior customer service skills

·         A desire to learn independently and tackle new challenges

·         Troubleshooting experience for PC/Mac computers, desk phones, printers, networks, etc.

·         Ability to communicate clearly in written and verbal mediums

·         Must be a self-starter and able to prioritize tasks in a fast paced environment

·         Independent and self-directed work ethic when participating in a collaborative environment

·         Sense of humor

Educational Requirement

Associate’s Degree or Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Information Technology and Information Systems, preferred.
