Position: Middle School Principal

We are seeking an experienced Middle School Principal (6-8 Grades) to lead school efforts by executing Pine Lake Prep’s shared vision and mission.  Applicants should submit a Letter of Intent and Resume to the following:  HumanResources@pinelakeprep.org

Key Responsibilities:

Curriculum and Instruction

  • Monitor curriculum development to ensure sufficient resources are available to meet instructional needs.
  • Provide adequate and timely feedback to teachers so that they may develop professionally. 
  • Identify and analyze assessment data to create performance goals for continued improvement.


Culture and Community

  • Foster a school culture that is positive and supportive.
  • Engage parents and community partners.
  • Provide ongoing and effective communication with stakeholders.


Staff/Student Management

  • Retain and develop high quality staff.
  • Clearly define expectations for performance with regards to instructional strategies, classroom management and communication with families.  
  • Plan deliberate professional development opportunities in line with school goals.  
  • Observe employee performance, record observations, and conduct evaluation conferences with staff.
  • Promote and implement school discipline policy to enhance school climate. 



  • Master’s in School Administration or Educational Leadership
  • At least 3 years of prior school leadership experience preferred

Education Requirements:

  1. Master’s Degree in School Counseling or related field
  2. Must possess and maintain proper certification as established by NC state law and the Department of Public Instruction (NCDPI).


Professional/personal characteristics preferred: 

  1. Working knowledge of the NC Comprehensive School Counseling Standard Course of Study Experienced with needs of high school age students & their families
  2. Engaging interpersonal skills & strong speaking/writing skills
  3. Effective working with groups
  4. Able to organize & sequence activities
  5. Collaborative working style & strong work ethic
  6. Commitment to professional growth



Utilizing leadership, advocacy, and collaboration, the Upper School Counselor will promote student success, provide preventive services, and respond to identified student needs by implementing a comprehensive school counseling program that addresses academic, career, and personal/social development for all students
