What did you want to be when you were growing up?
I always wanted to be a teacher.
Where did you go to college?
I attended The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill
What do you like to do in your spare time?
I enjoy watching my three girls play sports, going to the NC mountains with my husband, church choir and activities, walking/exercising, snow skiing, water skiing, boating, and spending time with my family.
What is your favorite thing about Pine Lake Prep?
My favorite thing about Pine Lake Prep is the awesome students. They keep me going and have such a great attitude.
If you could give students one piece of advice, what would it be?
Do not give up on your dreams and goals when times get hard. Push and fight hard to make it through life's challenges but at the same time try to face those times with faith and a peaceful spirit.
Where were you born? Where have you lived most of your life?
I was born at Presbyterian Hospital in downtown Charlotte, NC (Cotswold area). I have lived in Charlotte, Chapel Hill, Cornelius, Mooresville, and Pensacola, FL. Most of my life in Charlotte and Cornelius.
How long have you been teaching?
I have been teaching Math (10 years), Children's Choir, Children's Sunday School, Dance/Aerobics,and Summer Camps for a total of 20 years.
What's your favorite movie?
My favorite movie is either "The Sound of Music" or "The Wizard of Oz". I also love all of the Disney Classics, especially "The Little Mermaid". I love to watch movies with singing and dancing!
What was your favorite subject / grade while you were in school?
My favorite subject was Math/Algebra. I had a great 8th grade math teacher and loved my 8th grade year. I also loved my 11th/Jr. year. That year I had a special History teacher named Mr. Aldridge who encouraged me to become a teacher.
Who is your favorite author?
My favorite books to read growing up were Laura Ingalls Wilder "Little House" books. I spend every Saturday watching Little House on the Prairie while doing laundry.
