What did you want to be when you were growing up? I wanted to be a teacher or a nurse.
Where did you go to college? I graduated from Central Piedmont Community College with an associates degree in Marketing.
What do you like to do in your spare time? In my spare time I love to read books, look at home decor magazines, organize my house, shop and spend time with my two daughters by going to the movies, park, plays, musicals, etc.
What is your favorite thing about Pine Lake Prep? At Pine Lake Prep, I know my children will receive a wonderful education that will prepare them for college. I love the "family" feel of the school, the sense of community that we have created. I love the awesome academic partners that we have and the teamwork that we share.
If you could give students one piece of advice, what would it be? My advice to students would be to always be sure that you are choosing the right attitude and to treat others as you would want to be treated. I would advise them to stay focused on making good grades, doing the best that they can in all their endeavors and concentrate on a college education after high school. I would tell them to really search their soul to find that perfect career they will love that will truly make a difference in our world.
Where were you born? Where have you lived most of your life? I was born in Concord, NC and lived in Kannapolis NC all of my life. After getting married, I moved to the Mooresville area and have lived here for the past 12 years
How long have you been teaching? Although I am not a "teacher", I have worked with children for years at church and was an assistant director of my church pre-school. I then became an associate teacher in 2007 at Pine Lake and fell in love with working in a school environment which I absolutley love. This position led me to what I am now, which is the administrative associate for the lower school and is it truly awesome!
What's your favorite movie? I do not really have a favorite movie,but...I like romantic movies as well as comedy.
What was your favorite subject / grade while you were in school? I always enjoyed English.
Who is your favorite author? My favorite author is Nicholas Sparks.
